Adults/Masters Program

Owner Anita Killmier has a passion for swimming as a life long sport so unlike many other squad programmes, H2O not only focuses on developing younger swimmers, it also focuses on promoting and developing swimming among adults. H2O can cater to all adult swimmers irrespective of age, ability and goals.

Anita has been both pioneer and leader in the field of adult swimming and is well regarded as one of Australia's best teacher and coach of adults.  We have programs to suit the beginner right through to elite pool, open water, surf, triathlon and World Masters competitors. We offer both private lessons and group training squads.  

Some swimmers train specifically for an array of competitive activities ranging from the Open Water swims such as the Lorne Pier-to-Pub; Triathlons and pool competitions.  In order to swim competitively, they belong to Powerpoints Masters Swimming Club which offers additional swimming times to its members at MSAC..  Powerpoints Masters has been allied with H2O for nearly 30 years and provides a wonderful range of social activities for like-minded people.  If racing is not your thing, you can still swim with H2O. Our new venue The Swim Studio in East Malvern is perfect for adults wanting to learn to swim or fast track technique.  We specialise in private lessons with great results and have flexibility with venues and times to suit the busiest schedules.

H2O offers various sessions throughout the week that are held at the Prahran pool all year round.  The combination of both Powerpoints and H2O squad training options, also offers greater flexibility in choosing times to suit busy swimmers.

I am a 64 man who has been swimming for 62 years. Swimming, for me, is the best exercise for all over muscle, bone and cardio strengthening, and mood well being. My aim is to swim just as long as I like in contrast to struggling for 30 minutes. After retiring, I knew it was time to fix my swim style. Recently at the Prahran pool I saw Anita coaching an adult man, and noted she was absorbed in giving instructions, even laying down on the pool edge to demonstrate. When the lesson finished I asked her to coach me. She quickly found that I only had 10 days in town. Anita gave me four lessons allowing me to continue training at my home in Canada. The lessons - while crammed with instructions - were structured to work progressively on techniques for positioning the body, breathing, arm and leg movements,and training drills to master each step. Instructions were emailed to me. While learning new techniques is not easy, the drills provide all the benefits of swimming so you get the right exercise while improving your swim style.
