Squad Program

Swimming has long been acknowledged as one of the best forms of exercise. If we want our children to grow into fit and healthy adults, sport should be a regular part of their life. However, for exercise to become a lifelong habit we need to encourage it from an early age.

Our tiered squad program provides that opportunity for a continuum, and should our students decide to continue in the sport as an adult, we also provide a program of adult fitness squads. Possibly the greatest benefits of participating in an organised swimming program are the lifelong skills your child will develop and carry into adulthood. These skills include time management, self-discipline, sportsmanship, goal setting and a good work ethic. Your child will reap the benefits of swimming long after his/her participation ends.

At H2O, we recognise that to be successful does not always mean winning. You can win a race, but still make many mistakes or have a poor performance. Similarly, you can swim brilliantly but still not win. We believe that while not everyone can be a winner in the sporting arena, by adopting a winning attitude, the athlete will be a winner in life. Winning, therefore, is not our ultimate goal, but giving our best is.

Developing a squad of elite swimmers is also conditional on having a logical progressive squad system in place.  To enable swimmers to filter through to the top, a broad base of swimmers must be developed.  The broader the base, the greater the number of swimmers who can potentially make it through the system.

To keep swimmers motivated, we have designed a number of resources and incentives that are unique to our program. All swimmers in any level of our squad program (with the exception of Teen Fit) must be registered members of the MH2O Swimming Club.
